Is it ok if i use petroleum jelly cream to make lip balm?

i heard people use petroleum jelly (vaseline) to make lip balms.But i went out and got petroleum jelly the cream kind by mistake.Would i still be able to make lip balm with it and will it be good for my health?Is it ok if i use petroleum jelly cream to make lip balm?

I think it would be fine to use for that.Just crush up some eyeshadow (in a shade of your choice),and add it to a small amount (a Tablespoon or 2) of the Vaseline,and stir it up.Just keep mixing,until all the shadow has been mixed in.
