Why do my lips feel grainy when i apply lip balm?

Nowadays, my lips are feeling weird and grainy when i apply chapstick or lip balm, but there is nothing on my lips when i check in the mirror. I'm sure it's not a problem with the lip balm, because it's a good quality thing, and i never had problems before.


My sister says it's because my lips are dry, my lips are often dry, but they have never felt like this before! :(


Any suggestions to get rid of it ?

Sounds like your lips are dry.Get a washrag and soak it in warm water,then ring it out,and wipe it across your lips in circular motions to get the dry skin off.

It is probably because your lips is dry, that is why it feels grainy and weird. Exfoliate your lips!





You can get a baby toothbrush from the drugstore, use vaseline on the lips, and brush it onto you lips gently (in circular motions). The soft bristles of the toothbrush won't irritate your lips and is gentle enough to exfoliate and get rid of the dry skin.





If it is not your lips, it may be your lip balm. Sometimes you may never know whether or not you are allergic to an ingredient that is in the lip balm. Your lips flaking or being grainy may probably be an allergic reaction. Sometimes even lip balm expire! If you have used that lip balm for a while now, ditch it and get another one!

Don't worry, that is supposed to happen. Lip balm, if applied to very dry lips, will remove the top, dull, dead layer of skin from your lips to make way for healthy, rosy lips.


Try exfoliating your lips with warm water on a toothbrush, this works wonderfully on peeling lips.
stop using the lip balm.most just dry out the skin even more.stop using all lip balm.period.
