Thats what they do day. But yes , I think it does make them look bigger. Because when your lips do not like chemicals in a lip balm , they tend to shrink. If you the lip balm is natural they shine and grow to their fullest. Its doesnt taste that good.. But you can try Lip Smackers.
they jusst make them look healthier they have new lip venom type of lipgloss from good names now like covergirl and stuff so its not harmful or irratating.
Lip gloss makes them look the biggest
I think it does... I use it bcos I've got small lips and I look for things that can to emphasise them more.

Get some beeswax, coconut oil, and essential oil (if you want flavour... I mix 2 drops of peppermint with 2 drops of cinnamon leaf)
Melt 1 tsp beeswax, mix with 1 tsp coconut oil and essential oil, fill the container you wish to use, let harden and then use,
Or, buy chap stick brand lip balms... they work pretty decent.

Without a doubt, the best lip balm ever. They have tinted lip balms and lip shimmers and lip glosses too. Some of that stuff you'll have to maybe buy off the internet, though. Drug stores and Wal-mart have the plain lip balm and sometimes the lip shimmers. I've seen stuff at Cracker Barrel too.

NIVEA- it's the smoothest one i've tried and has NO problems.
and at night, try putting on a coating of Rosebud Salve before going to sleep, you'll wake up with super soft lips that;ll last.

its really light, and has a tingly minty flavor, and it doesnt make your lips slimy or anything. and its great for chapped lips too, it heals em fast.

Also a great tip is to exfoliate your lips with a damp washcloth and then put the vaseline on and VOILA! you have perfectly moist, healed, and luscious lips!!

But mostly I use the flavored kind I get at Deals or the Dollar Tree. I have Good and Plenty right now. There are lots of other candy flavors, and that's what I like. For serious healing, Vapo Rub, but it tastes yucky. It's good for feet and elbows too. Just be careful to keep it out of your eyes. The store brand or the cheap kind at Deals is fine. Slop it on your feet, put on socks and you'll have really smooth heals in the morning.

The earliest and most natural lip balm was beeswax and oil. Then came synthetic ones (I don't really know their names) like Vaseline and those alike.
oh dear, this Q is quite tough for me...i have very sensitive lips...i've tried vaseline and nivea...none of them worked for me...i cant even use lip gloss and lipstick...i went to my doc and get a lotion/cream for me...

Why do my lip's skin peel off when I put on lip balm?
I believe this happen before, but I just don't know why. When I start to use lip balm again, a day or two later of use, I the skin would crack and peel off slightly. 3 Caps Vitamin E, oil squeezed out
Melt every thing in a small jar set in a pan of boiling water (don't melt over direct heat, it could burn or the wax could catch on fire!) Stir frequently. pour in small containers, but would be easier to just to buy lip balm.

1/2 teaspoon petroleum jelly
1/2 drop red food coloring... or more for pigment
2 packets splenda... sweetener
1/4 teaspoon of artificial flavoring
dump all ingredients into a glass container then zap all ingredients in a microwave safe glass container for 20 seconds ... stir everything with a toothpick till blended
allow to cool before applying.
To make the following homemade lip balm recipes, melt beeswax and oil in microwave or double boiler, add other ingredients and pour into attractive containers. Let sit for 48 hours allowing time to set before use.

I personally use Burt's Bees. Its a great product, most people can use it because it doesn't contain chemicals that react badly with most people's skin. The tingling is slight, whereas carmax is known feeling as though your lips are on fire. Vaseline wouldn't be too good, I only use it in the winter to prevent cracking of skin from the cold. Vaseline easily carrys germs--I know you don't want that in your mouth! If you're not fond of the tingle Burt's Bees even have a lip balm (burt's bees honey lip balm over the beeswax) that is smoothing. Hope I helped!

2 tablespoons almond extract
3-5 drops peppermint extract
Fill a small saucepan 1/3 full with hot water.
Place all the above in a pottery creamer.
Use a creamer because it's easy to pour.
Set the creamer in the saucepan and heat the water until all the ingredients are melted.
Pour hot mixture into small (purse size?) jars.
Close tightly.

Method:
Heat all the ingredients except any Essential Oils in the beaker or stainless steel cup immersed in a pan of hot water (double boiler).
Stir and melt fully.
When everything has melted, add 30 drops of each Essential Oil (or 60 of a blend of them).
You can pour this product into a glass jar or professional lip balm cylinder.
When pouring into cylinders, pour up to 3/4 full, allow to cool and then, after 10 minutes, top up (the contents will have contracted slightly).
Leave for a few minutes before putting on the lids.
Different kinds of lip balm can be made through the addition of other fat-soluble ingredients (see below). For every e.g. 5ml of anything else which is liquid you will need to remove 5ml of the Vegetable Oil. Most of the additional ingredients, apart from Essential Oils, will need to be heated with the main ingredients.
Here are some examples of what you can add to the base lip balm to make the type of lip balm you want:
Lip balm for sun protection - add Tiosol (10ml for sun factor 12, or 5ml for sun factor 5-6)
Lip balm with Zinc - add 5ml Zinc Oxide (do not reduce the amount of Vegetable Oil)
Tea Tree lip balm (for sore lips) - add 1-8ml Tea Tree Oil and 1-2ml Lavender Oil as your Essential Oils
Vitamin lip balm - add 2ml Vitamin E and 5 drops of Carotene

Soy beans have much arginine too. If you could avoid these two foods for a short time and get an L-LYSINE supplement into your system for about 4 weeks, it could possibly be your answer.
In times of STRESS your body is quick to use up its supply of B vitamins. It is now known by science that different people have different levels of requirements for different vitamins. For example, some diagnosed with ADHD, attention deficit hyperactive disorder, or ADD, attention deficit disorder, ( both misnomers, I am convinced ) require as much as 10 times the niacin as those considered normal. How do you make a lip balm?
How do you get the ingredients to solidify without destroying them?How do you make a lip balm?
i have a few different ways:

Sterilise some small glass jars and lids by boiling in a saucepan of water for five minutes. Remove any old labels from the jars.

In a heat-proof bowl place two teaspoons of beeswax, four teaspoons of petroleum jelly, one teaspoon of vanilla extract and a few shavings of lipstick to add colour (optional). Place the bowl in a saucepan of cold, shallow water. The water level should come up to about half way up the sides. Simmer the water gently, stirring the ingredients until melted and well mixed.

Remove the bowl from the saucepan using a pair of tongs and place on a wooden board. Let the lip balm set for about 20 minutes, by which time a skin will have set on the surface. Use a fork to break through this surface and stir the mixture until thoroughly mixed.

Spoon the mixture into small jars. Wipe away excess lip balm from the edge of the jars and leave to set for a few hours before using. (You can write the name of the lip balm with a metallic pen).
Strawberry or peppermint essence can be used in place of the vanilla to give some variety to your lip balms.

Beeswax (from health food stores and some chemists)
Vanilla extract or essence (from supermarkets, extract is stronger than essence)
Unwanted lipstick for colour tinting
Teaspoon
Fork

Fake flower and metallic pen for decorating the lid

But what you could do is buy a tin of Vaseline, the pocket size for consistency and then use some kind of fragrance to give it a scent i.e you could add some cocoa butter to it...or whatever you like...
Again I have just thought of this on the spot so its trial and error...you could always go into The Body Shop and see what products they have on offer and use the ideas/ingredients of scents/lip balms for inspiration etc......even try out Health Stores too...

Is it bad to use lip balm often?
I was just wondering, is it bad to use lip balm too often? Even when you're lips are not dried out? I've been applying lip balm kind of often lately - mostly because I'm trying to use it up. And I just wanted to make sure it won't damage my lips or have bad effects.Is it bad to use lip balm often?
Unless it has alcohol or another drying ingredient, you can't ';overdose'; on lip gloss or lip balm.
Check the ingredients and if it has any kind of alcohol, it can be pretty drying to your lips.. So while they're not dried out now, they can be in the future.
The only way it would be bad would be if you were allergic to any of the ingredients.. If you notice redness, irritation, bumps or itchiness, switch to another brands.

I apply and reapply all the time, and it never gets old! It tastes really good too. Since you said that you were just trying to use it up, and if you like to reapply lip gloss and want to be safe about it... I think you should try Neauties when you've finally used it up! My favorite flavors are Cherry and Peppermint. Everyone I know likes the Peppermint better. I like the Cherry because it's the only thing I like that's Cherry flavored. I think it's because it's made with food grade flavoring. It's made with real food flavoring... I think that's kind of cool! But, when you're done you shdefinitelyately try this stuff out! It definitelyately be safe to use over and over and over AND OVER AND OVER!! :)

* 40% (By WEIGHT) of your recipe should be any cosmetic grade oil that is liquid at room temperature (sweet almond, apricot kernel, avocado, grapeseed, hemp seed, macadamia, olive, sunflower, etc.)
* 25% of your recipe should be any cosmetic grade oil that is solid at room temperature (coconut, lanolin, palm, mango butter, shea butter, etc
* 20% of your recipe should be cosmetic grade Beeswax (white or yellow, pellets or solid blocks)
* 15% of your recipe should be any cosmetic grade oil that is brittle at room temperature (cocoa butter, palm kernel, etc.)

Nivea Lip Care is good stuff but Blistex works about 10 times better (I use 'Blistex Cream' daily as part of my makeup routine and make lips are always soft. For a treat you could also try Yves Saint Laurent Exfoliating Lip Balm, gets rid of any dry skin you may have on there.. but too be honest thats just an expensive way of rubbing an toothbrush over your lips!

Nivea cherry lip balm is quite good.
Nivea Lip Care is good stuff but Blistex works about 10 times better (I use 'Blistex Cream' daily as part of my makeup routine and make lips are always soft. For a treat you could also try Yves Saint Laurent Exfoliating Lip Balm, gets rid of any dry skin you may have on there.. but too be honest thats just an expensive way of rubbing an toothbrush over your lips!

I'm just very curious because it looks like a normal lip balm-white colour. I tested on tissue paper and it left a pink stain.

Um, okay carmex dries out your lips anyway so I'd chunk it! Besides, almost all makeup needs to be thrown out after a year or so. It can go rancid and cause rashes and stuff. I recommend Burt's Bees because it's natural, easy to find, and good for your lips.

I'd say a maximum of 12 months from the time you use it the first time. Thats what it usually is for lip balm from the ones i've used and it says on the labelling as well.
If you're not sure whento throw out check the labelling...it usually has a symbol on it to show how long the lip balm lasts for beforeyou should chuck it out.

Looking for a nice tasting lip gloss type. I find a lot have the bitter taste and I want to avoid that.

What is a good lipstick or tinted lip balm?
I need a subtle lip color, because I always look washed out. My skin is fairly light and I have dirty blonde hair and blue eyes. I dont really like the way lip gloss feels though. My favorite brands are covergirl and maybelline. If you could recommend certain products and what shade I should get that would be greatly appreciated.

Trust me, it does *not* look as red when you put it on as it does in the jar. In fact, at first I was a little disappointed because I thought it would be darker. But I have grown to love this product. It's very sheer and is perfect when I don't want to put on make up and just want to add a little color. It is not sticky at all. Lip balm does not cause cold sores. They are caused by a virus. However, if you use the lip balm while you have a cold sore and then use it again after it's healed, you could be reinfecting yourself because the virus gets on the balm. Throw it away, get a new one, and don't use it when you have a cold sore. You could also avoid it by getting one of the pot ones like carmex or any others in the little pots because you apply it with your fingers instead of directly to your lips, where an existing sore will cause cross contamination. Just make sure you wash your hands after applying so you don't transfer any virus on your hands to the pot the next time you use it.

About 15 years ago when I used to stand at bus stops in the winter I got very sore and dry cracked lips. I started using lip balm then and have done ever since. I apply it several times throughout every day winter and summer, and a day where I forget to take lip balm to work is not a pleasant once.

I have been 'addicted' to lip balm for nearly 20 years. If I ever went anywhere without one I was not a pleasant person to be around and my lips would start to sting. However, 3 months ago I decided I wanted to get rid of it. My boyfriend always used to complain it was greasy when he kissed me and I noticed there was always grease around my glass.
I tried not taking one with me but that didn't work - I just wanted it more.
So I made my self wait as long as I could before using it. As long as I had one with me I was able to go longer, a few hours at a time. Then I only allowed my self to use it once a day.
Then one day I realised I couldn't remember the last time I had used it - at least a couple of days and it just got better from there. 12 days is my best so far - then I needed it, but I am on day 10 at the mo. Nearly 'cracked' this morning but I resisted.
It is a real addiction and therefore - IT CAN BE BEAT%26gt; lol

I am totally addicted to it even though I have really nice moistured lips! I think the best ever is Miso Pretty, it is available in heals. Also, boujours lip gloss is really cute, you can even get mini ones to attach to your phone as a phone charm- an absolute godsend!

You need lip balm don't want to go back to having those sore cracked lips. Since using lip lift I have never had sore lips again

I keep one pot in my room and one in my bag/pocket and if I ever forget it it drives me mad, also cheaper lipbalms don't feel as nice on my lips. I have to fly back and forth from home and uni in ireland and when they had the strict restrictions on not letting anything liquid (even lip balm!) thru security it was sooo annoying having to go for a few hours without any lip balm, esp as flying makes your lips dry out.

How do I make a basic lip balm, eyeshadow, creams?
I just want to know what I can make (simple!) at home? Please give me recipes and website with tons of them!!! I just wanna try this out ; )

Well, I don't have any websites, but I do have this:
For lip balm, try crisco, a bit of gelatin (optional), vaseline, and flavouring with kool-aid or lemonaid, or essential oils. Eyeshadow requires a bit more work, so you'll have to contact a professional for that. As for creams, try mixing milk (or cream), vitamin e, and if you want, some thick (unflavoured!) greek strained yogurt. (If you add the yogurt be sure to rinse it off afterwards)
Another trick for a face wash/mask:
Make oatmeal from PLAIN oatmeal mix and hot water, and strain out all of the oats with a sifter, so you are left with the pasty liquid. Apply to skin, let dry, and rinse off.

well, wet n` wild lip balm is pretty cool; and its not really greasy; and you can try chapstick too :)What is a good colorless drugstore lip balm that is not heavy or greasy?
I would suggest Burt's Bee's it does hurt your lips a little if they're chapped but otherwise it's a great lip balm
I really like the original Burts Bees or Chapstik in Vanilla Mint. They both smell and work really well.

it gives you supple lips and lasts hours
and it has this minty feel when you apply it. your lips will feel cool
and its beeswax
and I've tried softlips before but they dried up and my lips didnt look good.
