What is the difference between lip balm and chap stick?

Nothing, ';Chap Stick'; is a brand nameWhat is the difference between lip balm and chap stick?
Chap stick is more of an instant relief for dry lips. Lip balm, on the other hand is more of a deep nourishing mositurizer for the lips. It lasts longer and is more rich. I hope this helps!

As far as I know....Chapstick provides a protective layer on the surface of your lips while Lip Balm has moisturizers to soften the lips.
lip balm prevents chapped lips, and chap stick helps heal chapped lips. i think!
lip balm is more for style and chapstick it more for keeping your lips from drying
nothing
yah chapstick is a brand but it is lip balm so they are the same and do the same things. either one is good. %26lt;333 emily
There is no difference. ChapStick is the name brand of a lip balm. The difference lies between lip balm and lip gloss. Lip balm soothes dry/cracked lips, lip gloss is usually tinted and makes lips shiny/goopy.
Chap Stick is a medicated form of lip balm, but with less flavors.

Chap Stick also has MANY more uses then lip balm.

For example: Chap Stick can be used as a lubricate to take off a stuck ring, or rub on joints of tools that are begining to rust. It can also be used on leather as a buffer, or a ';grease'; that you can rub along your hairline when dying your hair. Chap Stick can be used to ease the pain after a nic or cut, and/or can relieve the pain of a sore nose during the extreme winter weather.

Chap Stick has many uses!
Nothing.
Actually, they are the same thing, although lip balm is using known as being applied with your finger and ';chapstick'; is usually know as being applied in a stick. I believe this is rather slang now however can be very confusing - this is a very good question! Thanks for bring it up, I'm sure a lot of people are confusing about it!
